Does it ever end?
Iām tired of the inner turmoil
Iām tired of being anxious
the rollercoaster ride of emotions
swirling and churning within
old scars reopen
past nightmares haunt
doubt invades, fear paralyses
silent screams that no one hears
I keep building my wall
uninviting, tall and proud
but the faƧade is brittle
weathered by the years
Iām lost in despair
unsure of who I am
uncertain of how to change
afraid of the road ahead
I am tired of being me.

It sounds very relatable and scary. However fear is only to fear if we build walls in ourselves against our own feelings of fear. Paradoxically. Facing the fear and what emotional state we are in, one tinny bit at a time, and then another and another will set us free. I believe…
This is true. I work on my fears little by little, lest it consumes me altogether. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.
This seems so relatable.
Thank you Phoebe for sharing my poem. This is my first time contributing work to another blog and Iām happy to have shared something on your wonderful platform.
Thank you for allowing me to share your work! š
This is so ironic that Iām reading this right after my visit with my Therapist! I think that if we focus on anything too long whether it be good or bad it only fuels more of the same thing! I personally stop my bad or fearful thoughts the minute they pop into my head, replacing them with pleasant ones which can be hundreds of times a day, and yes itās exhausting but it becomes easier. What matters most is acknowledging those fears and getting the right kind of help!
Happy Thoughts and Well Wishes,
Suz
Hi Suz, thanks for your comment. I agree that dwelling on our fears can make things worse. I wrote this piece a while ago when I was in a bad place but have since gotten help with trying to change my mindset. Therapy and medication have done wonders for my anxiety. Hope you’re well!

I know the feeling, so I decided to become someone else ā different name, different place, new life… It works.
Finding something that works for you is great. I hope one day I can too.
This poems is beautiful, because I feel the same way at times. Great One..
Thank you for your kind words. It’s always comforting to know Iām not alone.
