Where the Light Finds You [a poem]

Not every rising is announced by brilliance.
Some begin in reverent stillnessβ€”
in the inward yielding of the heart,
in the unspoken decision
to trust the next breath.

Transformation rarely declares itself.
It gathers in hidden placesβ€”
as roots descend through stubborn earth,
as dawn prepares beyond the edge of sight,
as the horizon expands
without haste or spectacle.

What feels unnoticed is not without consequence.
What feels fragile is not without endurance.
Beneath the visible surface of your days
there are workings more faithful than fear,
more enduring than doubtβ€”
quiet mercies shaping the unseen architecture of your life.

Even the faintest ember,
guarded with patience,
learns the discipline of steady flame.
Even the softest resolve,
kept in the chamber of silence,
matures into quiet strength.

And when understanding ripensβ€”
not in thunder,
but in a calm and lucid knowingβ€”
you will recognize that what appeared as waiting
was refinement,
what felt uncertain
was alignment,
and what seemed incomplete
was already being guided toward fullness.

Remain steady where you stand.
Let your next step be unhurried and true.
The light does not lose its wayβ€”
it inclines toward you
with unwavering intention,
and it will find you
precisely where grace has placed you.

  1. You touch on something facing us when we are down and segmented, “to trust the next breath.” You describe the process of healing, of coming back together and how it’s gradual rather than fantastic all at once. Still, the light appears and leans toward us, as time goes on and parts of us get rebuilt. This whole work is so meaningful, poetic–showing the strength in both.
