Does it ever end?
Iโm tired of the inner turmoil
Iโm tired of being anxious
the rollercoaster ride of emotions
swirling and churning within
old scars reopen
past nightmares haunt
doubt invades, fear paralyses
silent screams that no one hears
I keep building my wall
uninviting, tall and proud
but the faรงade is brittle
weathered by the years
Iโm lost in despair
unsure of who I am
uncertain of how to change
afraid of the road ahead
I am tired of being me.

Hello friend!
It is such an amazing expression of the exact emotions within us.

Glad I found your poem on my feed. Thank you.
I go down that same road often. I’m 82 and very tired of it and I’ll be happy when it all stops. Meantime I blog and I write. Best regards.
