When aย smile,
portrayed asย guise of fire,
rusts as your presence departs…
When aย caress,
lingeredย withย twilight glow,
is but a shadowย trailing
scarlet threads…
When a love, unreturned,
plays master calloused
to a fading hope…
Set aย seal upon shallow heart,
you whom my soul desires,
and let me be released.ย

This is really captivating.
Great writing and imagery. Love “rusts as your presence departs…”

OH NO, the link is broken or the page is missing. Is that Elizabeth Barrett Browning? We didn’t get to read to the end.
