You Are Loved Beyond Measure [a poem]

Before the world had spoken your name,
before the first breath of your days was drawn,
love had already gathered you
into its quiet keeping.

It stood beside the dawn of your life,
in the unseen mercies that bore your beginning,
in the slow unfolding of your story
through seasons of brightness and trial.

There are hours when the heart forgets this—
when uncertainty clouds the inward sky
and the spirit grows weary of its questions.
In such moments, it may seem
as though tenderness has withdrawn.

Yet love does not depart.
It remains—
constant as the turning of the heavens,
faithful as morning returning to the earth.

It draws near to what feels fragile,
listens where words fall silent,
and shelters the quiet places of the soul
until courage stirs again.

You are not loved because you are unbroken.
You are loved because you are known—
fully, deeply, without condition.

No frailty can diminish this love.
No failing can undo it.
No shadow can conceal its truth.

So when the day grows heavy
and your strength feels small,
let this certainty rest within you:

You are cherished beyond counting.
You are held beyond fear.
You are loved beyond measure.

  1. Well said, i.e.; “Whoever does not love has not come to know God, because God is love.” (1John 4:8)
