Today [a poem]

Laughing. Teasing. Moment ceasing.
Staring. Caring. Sometimes failing.
Reading. Greeting. Children feeding.
Dying. Crying. Facebook lying.
Shower. Flour. Stomach growl.

The well has run dry β
or so it seems.
Life has been wordless
in this season.

Never a place one wants to be
especially alone
my lifeline confined to the parking lot
in a hurry they weigh me
no time to remove shoes
extra layers glasses ring watch
annoyed, my weight will be inflated
I am wheeled to a small sterile room
dominated by a single bed
intimidating medical charts are
thumb tacked in random order to lime green walls
I eagerly respond to you so I can lie down

What is this
That tests my hopes soβ¦
What is this colour in the sky
That repels and is so loudβ¦
What is the rush in the waves
That seems to devour every shoreβ¦
What is thisβ¦this roar
That silently lurks in every cornerβ¦
