Love and compassion, sorrow and strife
An uneven rhythm, this opus called life
Fate she is fickle, one day youโre stuck
And the next you may have a stroke of good luck
Sometimes youโll be sad, when we lose those we love
We evaluate life and the frailty thereof
Often the small things make living worthwhile
The laugh of a baby, a hug or a smile
Yesterdayโs gone, tomorrowโs a bet
The heart canโt survive that is torn by regret
So follow your dreams, learn from mistakes
And always think twice on decisions you make

“Often the small things make living worthwhile”, this is so good. I try writing poetry and I loved the way you write. I also learnt a few things about writing from your poem.โค
Hello Esdi, and thank you! I’m flattered. It’s true though; with all the stress, news, schedules, running, work… sometimes you just need to be still and have a hug, or relax and have a laugh.
I’m so glad you took something away from it; I’d love for you to visit my writing blog and see more! Thanks again.
Yes, definitely I will visit your blog!๐
Thank you for following!!
You are most welcome! I love poetry.๐ค
The flow of this poem was delightful. For me the lesson within this pertains to maintaining a positive outlook in the face of uncertainty.
Yes! Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to comment ๐

Also, I love the poem. Especially the lines “Often the small things make living worthwhile
The laugh of a baby, a hug or a smile”
The essence of little things is portrayed so beautifully in two lines. Love it ๐
Thank you Mya! I’m glad you liked it. My collection was written over about three years, but this poem is one of a handful that I wrote back in 2008.
Let me know if you try the hairstyle. It’s great for securing unruly bangs when you’re just not in the mood lol.
Wow. That’s the beauty of poetry. Even after so many years, it is relevant and touching so many hearts.๐
I will definitely try the hairstyle. Thanks again ๐ธ
