About Health | Inspiration

A curated haven where evidence-based health meets the art of thoughtful living

Founded in 2014 by Dr. Phoebe Chi, Health | Inspiration began as a quiet place for reflectionโ€”a journal of poetry born from the intersections of medicine, healing, and the human experience. Over time, it has grown into a curated platform where wellness and the written word continue to meet with purpose and grace.

Here, evidence-based health guidance is offered alongside stories of resilience and original poetry that speaks to both body and spirit. With contributions from writers and poets around the world, Health | Inspiration invites readers into a space of clarity, comfort, and connectionโ€”a place to be informed, empowered, and gently inspired.

Phoebe Chi

Dr. Chi is a physician writer and scientific editor dedicated to advancing health through clear communication and creative expression. Her background in internal medicine and global health has shaped her work across clinical care, humanitarian outreach, and chronic disease preventionโ€”spanning communities from South America to Sub-Saharan Africa.

In her role as a scientific communicator and editor, Dr. Chi supports researchers across disciplines in crafting clear, publication-ready manuscripts that meet the highest standards of academic excellence. With deep expertise in both clinical science and scholarly publishing, she is especially committed to helping multilingual authors communicate their findings with clarity, rigor, and impact.

She is the author of Being Empowered for a Healthy Heart, a poetry-infused guide that merges medical knowledge with compassionate reflection. Her writing, often rooted in themes of resilience and quiet strength, aims to nurture not only the intellect, but the inner life of her readers. Dr. Chi is also the founder of Pendants for a Cause, a nonprofit initiative that transforms sea glass into handcrafted jewelry to support pediatric medical charities and underserved communities around the world. At the heart of her workโ€”whether through medicine, writing, or artโ€”is the belief that healing begins with understanding, and that words, when chosen with intention, can restore.

Welcome to Health | Inspirationโ€”a space where science meets soul, and words are crafted to uplift, inform, and empower. Weโ€™re so glad youโ€™re here.

  1. Hi Dr. Chi

I came across your blog today. I must say, its like walking into the Garden of Eden of written words; one is tempted to gobble it all in one go but there is so much to feed on. Withal, you find consolation
in knowing that tomorrow you can always come back to relish on another banquet of words. Thank you for providing a haven for literary junkies like me. Rest assured, I will be coming here from time to time to quench my nigh insatiable hankering.

    Cheers!

  3. Hello Dr. Phoebe Chi,

Your establishments and achievements are very inspiring and admirable. I am going to follow you. Just like you I worked for 4-5 years in Indian hospitals as a medical officer in Internal Medicine department and pursued MPH. We share many career background similarities. On a humorous note, apart from the career background similarity another similarity is you are following me and now I am following you!

  5. I’m glad to have been introduced to your blog and look forward to following you. Our daughter graduated from UNT, like you did, and is a molecular biologist/geneticist in Houston. And she has dogs – 3 now between her and her husband. ๐Ÿ™‚ I just noticed those similarities right away between you and my daughter. Your blog looks very interesting and beautiful!
