There are hours when the present gathers its shadow,
when the day feels heavy as a sky before rain
and the heart moves carefully beneath its weight.
In such moments the mind wanders through mist,
seeking a clear horizon
where the road bends out of sight
and the distance grows quiet and uncertain.
Yet no storm claims the sky forever.
Even the darkest clouds
are travelers of the wind,
arriving with thunder for a season
and departing with the returning light.
Within you lives a strength
older than the passing weather of your daysโ
a still and steady flame
that neither wind nor rain can silence,
a quiet endurance
rooted deeper than the shifting ground.
Strength rarely announces itself with brilliance.
More often it is like a river in winter,
moving beneath its cover of ice,
patient, unseen,
yet carrying the promise of spring.
It is the breath drawn when the heart is tired,
the step taken when the way is unclear,
the small and faithful courage
that rises again
like morning lifting slowly over the hills.
Remember this:
the moment before you
is only a cloud across the sun.
Stand gently within it.
Let its shadow pass through the sky of your life.
For the strength that carries you forward
is not bound to this passing hourโ
it flows through you
like a deep and living current,
quiet, enduring,
and stronger than the moment you face.
