When fear is everywhere,
take a breath.
Remind yourself that
as real as the fear feels,
it is a passing storm.
You can see it but
you donโt belong to it.
Remember that you
are not the weather.
You are the sky.
We can choose to be blown away
and knocked off our feetโฆ
or we can choose
to have the compassionate
and wise view from above.
We can be observant
while holding on to
who we really are.
Only by holding fast
to the good in us โ
our expansive being โ
can we truly be helpful
or even present.
So, keep your eyes open
while patiently riding it out.
Donโt allow yourself to get knocked over
or sucked into the whirlwind.
Be ever-present and calm
just like the blue sky
which endures every storm.
โ
Thank you, Cynthia, for these beautiful and timely words.
Wishing everyone a blessed day.

Very beautiful. Something all of us need right about now.
Thank you so much and I agree. ๐

Just what I needed to start off the morning. ๐
So glad. Thanks!
A lovely and very calming poem…..it’s very easy to get caught up in the emotion of it all; it’s better to be above the fear and in the clear.

Thank you so much! I wrote this for the pandemic but it certainly applies now with the riots and racial upset.
Appreciate your feedback!
Great expressive piece. I focus more on rhyme but your poems show me that it does take away from the creative expression. Thanks.
Thank you, Martin! As you can see, I do not pay attention to rhyming. So glad you found my writing helpful. Thanks for your feedback!
A lot more expressive way. I guess there is a part of me that wants to be a rapper…lol The other part of me jsut wants to inspire, motivate, enlighten. Will try a more expressive piece. Thanks. ๐
