The Time Is Now [a poem]
By Carmen McKnight | Featured Contributor
The time of day to live not stray
is now.
The time of night to love not to fight
is now.
The time to open up your heart
is now.
The time to cry those tears of joy
is now.

Each day is a great beginning,
To celebrate your life anew.
Boundless chances are waiting,
Make your dreams come true!
As the sun gently shows its beauty,
Start your day with a positive mind.
Let those uncertainties vanish freely,
Just get ready for the new day grind.

You aren’t in the frames
But you’re the one behind the lens
Not always at the starting gate
But cheering at the end
Your step-kids cannot see at first
You’re here for their own good
They only see you in the spot
Where once their mother stood

Each step forward seems a challenge…
There are rocks to dodge
and some of them with sharp edges.
Sometimes there is a soft landing
and the sweetness
of toes and heals being held.
This sweetness,
this softness,
lands right into my heart.
